Counselling

Counselling

Counselling is a talking therapy which enables a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and safe environment. Your counsellor will not judge, but respect and encourage you. Counselling will help you to explore your experiences so that you can understand them better, enabling you to cope with any problems and difficulties in a positive way.

Counselling can help with all types of issues. You can talk to your counsellor about anything that is on your mind and talking to someone who is independent, not related to friends or family may help. We will work together to identify and understand your issues and find a way forward that works for you.

Here is a list of common issues that people may bring to counselling:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Self Confidence/Esteem
  • Family
  • Relationships
  • Bereavement
  • Abuse
  • Anger
  • Bullying
  • Eating Disorders
  • Self Harm

This list is by no means exhaustive, there are many other reasons why someone might come.

Counselling takes place weekly, sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place at the same time and day of each week.
